Alex Ferguson’s side were 2-0 down on the night (and 3-1 on aggregate) after 11 minutes before goals from Roy Keane, Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole stunned the Italians. United went on to win the competition in similarly unlikely circumstances against Bayern Munich.
